Can you see a country in four days especially if it holds a wide array of wonders as Bosnia & Herzegovina does? This unique package was designed for those who do not have the time but have the desire to visit the amazing attractions of Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Holiday in a cottage set in the middle of an ancient town, drive through a breath-taking Canyon, visit medieval towns that have grown into cities whilst retaining significant parts of the history in its urban landscape and tantalise your taste buds with authentic Bosnian cuisine. This package, though short, was also designed to have

DAY 1 – Welcome to Bosnia & Herzegovina

On arrival at Sarajevo International Airport, you will be transferred directly to your four star cottage in Old Town Sarajevo. The experience is truly authentic with quaint cobble-stoned streets that run through the hustle and bustle of city life. After a quick check-in, your guide will lead you through the picturesque streets on foot to a nearby restaurant serving traditional Bosnian delights for lunch. Finish your first culinary introduction to Bosnian cuisine and stretch your legs in Sarajevo’s Old Bazaar – Bascarsija. The historical and cultural centre of Sarajevo allows tourist to wander through the winding cobbled lanes of this old town that is a vivid reminder of the Ottoman-rule in the Balkans between the 15th & 19th century. Built in the 15th century the word “Bascarsija” is derived from the Turkish language loosely translated to mean “main bazaar”. Today it is half its original size but is still a main attraction in Sarajevo where you can find old crafts, trinkets and souvenirs. You will have dinner at an international restaurant and later shuttled back to your cozy cottage.

DAY 2 – Guided city tours

After breakfast join us on our Times of Misfortune Tour. Not to flaunt the misfortune or trivialize the genocide that took place in Bosnia but this tour is among the most popular tours offered to tourists seeking to understand the plight of Sarajevans between 1992 & 1995. The Times of Misfortune tour covers all details of the war in Bosnia & Herzegovina and takes tourists to significant spots that help depict the Sarajevo siege like the maternity hospital, the Zetra Olympic compound and the Tunnel Of Hope, Olympic mountain Trebevic where the bobsled facilities are left in ruins. The tour ends at the painful Srebrenica exhibition. The first memorial gallery in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Srebrenica exhibition aims to preserve the memory of the Srebrenica tragedy where 8,372 people tragically lost their lives.

Once back to the town, let’s make a short Bosnian coffee break that is going to be a great introduction into the tasty afternoon and our Eat, Pray, Love Tour. Admire the symbol of the Austro-Hungarian rule, hear the story about the fascinating Spite House, and go through two streets where you’ll learn more about different crafts which have existed in Sarajevo since the 15th century. Discover the heart of the Ottoman rule – Sarajevo’s Bascarsija, and then drink water from Sebilj Fountain to ensure your return to Sarajevo again! Perhaps you are wondering what is the difference between “burek” and all other pies? Well we will certainly answer that question for you as well as any other culinary conundrums you may have! Pray in the four awe-inspiring big houses of God in Sarajevo and find out why people call it the “European Jerusalem”.

Learn about warm and friendly Bosnian hospitality over a cup of local coffee and share the importance and the meaning of its drinking. Experience the place where East meets West and be amazed at the wonders of this land, and finally be sure not to miss a taste of Baklava!

Diner in one of the traditional local restaurants.

DAY 3 – Visits to the Bosna spring and Lukomir Village

Day begins with the visit to beautiful springs of river Bosna. The whole area is one big park crisscrossed with waterways that are bridged together with bridges and paths for walking or cycling. In order to get there we will use horse driven carriages and pass through the 3, 5 km long great alley (tree line).

The tour continues with the visit to the highest and most isolated mountainous village in Bosnia and Herzegovina which is situated 1.500 m above sea level. The traditional medieval way of life of the Dinaric highlanders is still practiced here where women still wear traditional folk attire the same as they used to wear centuries ago. Lunch will be organized in one of the mountain chalets. In the afternoon, we will return to Sarajevo. Free evening to enjoy the Sarajevo nights, to visit local tea shops or just walk around the city.
